Cody was a 5-week old stray kitten found at a loading dock in McKinney and became a PAL foster, in June 2006.  Although he was covered with fleas and had ear mites, he was cleaned up and started to thrive.  At about 9 weeks of age Cody came down with a virus that caused his temperature to rise to 106 degrees and he lost the use of his limbs.  He was simply too weak to function.  For more than a week the vet worked to bring Cody's temperature down and keep him hydrated.  Finally, the virus passed through his system and he started to recover.  Today he is a happy, playful, loving little guy who is the companion to a 7-year old boy.  Total vet cost:  over $300
