Hope
A
volunteer found 2 little kittens covered in fleas and motor oil, they were
about 3 months old. Motor oil is an old home remedy to treat mange.
The female kitten had significant hair loss so we are guessing they thought the
hair loss was from mange. They were cleaned up, fed and taken
care of. The
little girl had a horrible case of ringworm. About 3 days later she
started to go down hill quickly losing her appetite and energy. She
was taken to one of our vet offices, where she stayed for a whole week with
around the clock care. We had a lot of hope for a little girl with the
same name. Hope was very fragile. We could not exactly put our
finger on what was wrong with her other than being covered in
ringworm and her feeling sickly. The pictures you see here are not what Hope looked
like when the fungus took over. She could not even open her eyes; we
think it might have burned to do so. She would cry, eat a little
and go back to sleep. Each of her little feet looked like elephant skin,
gray and wrinkled. On Monday morning, August 30th, she was taken back to
the vet office to have them care for her during business hours. Shortly
there after, she had two heart attacks and passed on to the There
are not enough homes, money and awareness to take care of all the pets in
our world today. Please spay and neuter your pets AND facilitate in
getting another pet in need spayed and neutered. (There are many
resources out there, just ask us.) Hope will live in our hearts forever
but she did not need to go through this in her very short life.
