3 yr old mix – sweet girl with skin problems
Shasta has been having skin problems for
over a year and her owners cannot afford to
take her to the vet any more, so they are
turning her over to PAL for care. She has
been living as an outside dog at their
house, which is not helping her condition.
PAL is looking for an indoor foster home &
ultimately an indoor adoptive family who
will continue to see to Shasta’s special
needs long term. We don’t know at this time
if she has allergies or mange or a
combination. She has multiple infections
for sure, and her itching and hair loss
might be caused by some other condition (not
allergies or mange.) Currently she is on
medications which are helping so far & we
are optimistic about her recovery; although
the vet has said it may take months to get
her totally well. Shasta is such a good,
sweet dog & she has been miserable for too
long. Her vet bills are likely to add up
over time, but our most urgent need for her
(with the hot Texas summer coming) is a
foster home that can keep her almost totally
inside. If you would like to foster or
adopt Shasta, please complete our online
application for fostering or adoption.
